My First Booksigning

September14

Michelle Teri and Ciara at booksigning

Yes, that’s me on the left, signing copies of Recipe for Love! I had the great fortune to join a bunch of wonderful authors for my first signing, which was arranged by Diana Castilleja (thanks, Diana!). I got to sit next to two extremely kind and talented authors, Teri Thackston and Ciara Gold, who made me feel welcome and patted me on the back after my epiglottis-rattling reading from my short story, A Spaghetti Kind of Love. I’m normally okay speaking in front of a group, but once “speaking” turns into “performing” or any variant thereof, watch out. The sweat start to roll, the voice to tremble and the breath, well, forget about breathing. That’s certainly what I do.

But I had good friends around me and a very forgiving audience - my reading was short - and after only four hours I was back on I-35 driving back to my husband and a large bottle of champagne.

It was delicious.

Hugs Michelle! It was so much fun to meet you! I’m really glad you enjoyed being there. I know I enjoyed hanging out with all of you. Makes me feel a little less alone all the way down here. :)
