My First Booksigning
Yes, that’s me on the left, signing copies of Recipe for Love! I had the great fortune to join a bunch of wonderful authors for my first signing, which was arranged by Diana Castilleja (thanks, Diana!). I got to sit next to two extremely kind and talented authors, Teri Thackston and Ciara Gold, who made me feel welcome and patted me on the back after my epiglottis-rattling reading from my short story, A Spaghetti Kind of Love. I’m normally okay speaking in front of a group, but once “speaking” turns into “performing” or any variant thereof, watch out. The sweat start to roll, the voice to tremble and the breath, well, forget about breathing. That’s certainly what I do.
But I had good friends around me and a very forgiving audience - my reading was short - and after only four hours I was back on I-35 driving back to my husband and a large bottle of champagne.
It was delicious.

In early 2008 Michelle left a fulfilling career as interactive director in an integrated marketing agency to pursue her passion for writing great stories filled with fascinating, intense, real characters who will do anything necessary to achieve their dreams. She’s co-written the audio-play of a Louis L’Amour short story produced by Bantam and Beau L’Amour, worked as an executive assistant for a Hollywood publicist, taught English in Spain, and enjoyed the lofty title of Romance Director running the personals sections of a newsweekly in Los Angeles.
